A driver is facing possible negligent driving charges for causing a two-vehicle crash on state Route 507 east of Tenino just before 6 p.m. on Monday.

The crash closed the roadway for nearly four hours.

The driver, a 39-year-old man from Billings, Montana, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for injuries sustained in the crash. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle, a white 2024 Isuzu NPR-HD box truck, were not injured.

The at-fault driver, whose name has not been released by law enforcement, was reportedly driving a black 2013 Chevrolet Impala southbound on state Route 507 when he struck the truck near Old Military Road, according to Washington State Patrol. The Impala came to rest in both the northbound and southbound lanes while the truck came to rest partially in the southbound lane and partially on the right shoulder.

The Washington State Patrol was dispatched to the crash at 5:56 p.m. and the roadway remained closed for three hours and 53 minutes.

The driver of the Impala was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the state patrol, which determined negligence was the cause of the crash.

As of Tuesday morning, the state patrol had not determined whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
