Oregon 13-year-old on motorcycle hospitalized after collision with state police vehicle

A 13-year-old motorcycle passenger has been hospitalized after a collision with an Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife patrol vehicle in Eddyville.

The crash took place at the 600 block of Nashville Road on Sunday, when two 13-year-olds were riding a motorcycle on private property before entering a roadway and colliding with the state police vehicle, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the patrol vehicle, deputies said. Upon impact, both kids fell off the motorcycle, and the passenger’s left leg and foot went under the passenger tire or tires of the patrol vehicle, according to officials.



The passenger’s leg and foot were significantly injured, and he was brought to a Corvallis hospital for treatment. According to initial reports, he is expected to recover.

The crash is being investigated by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
