A Beaverton school bus driver for special-needs children has been arrested on sex-abuse charges involving a minor, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

David L. Moore, 36, faces likely charges of rape in the first degree, sodomy in the first degree, sex abuse in the third degree and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct.

The sheriff’s office said the victim “is known to Moore from outside his employment.”

Moore was hired by the Beaverton School District last August.

The school district told local news organizations that Moore resigned last month. Next week was supposed to be his last as an employee. The district added that Moore passed criminal background checks before he was hired.

Investigators are trying to determine if there are more victims in this case. They ask anyone who may have information to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2700.
