In a dominant and balanced showing from start to finish, the Tumwater baseball team defeated R.A. Long at home Tuesday afternoon, 10-1.
Alex Overbay went 1-for-1, and made that one hit count, mashing a two-run homer toward center field in the very first inning to give the Thunderbirds a 2-0 lead.
It would be a lead the T-Birds would never relinquish, with a trio of pitchers combining to allow one run, led by Trenton Gaither’s strong three-inning start with seven strikeouts on the mound.
Brayden Oram also added a 2-for-4 line with two runs batted in and a run scored.
The Thunderbirds take on 3A Timberline in another non-league contest on Thursday on the road at 4:30 p.m.
