Overnight Closure Set for U.S. Highway 12 in Grand Mound for Roundabout Work

Posted

Thurston County Public Works will close U.S. Highway 12 from Pecan Street Southwest to Old Highway 99 Southwest and Elderberry Street Southwest for pavement marking of the new roundabout intersection at Sargent Road.

The closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. May 24. During the overnight closure, detours will be in place to guide motorists around the affected area.

The completion of the roundabout will add an additional north-south crossing of U.S. Highway 12, improving traffic flow for current and planned developments.

The additional route option will enhance emergency response and provide better alternative routes during road maintenance, according to Thurston County Public Works.

The project is scheduled to be completed this year.
