Morton-White Pass sophomore Mathew Parvin recorded two lifetime bests and four total wins as part of a banner day in helping the Timberwolves tally 173.3 points to win a league meet in Randle on Thursday night.

Onalaska was the runner-up of the eight-team meet with 164 points and Mossyrock was third at 59.6 points.

Parvin’s times of 11.44 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 23.60 in the 200 was enough to upend a field that featured upperclassmen stalwarts such as Briar Baldwin of Mossyrock and Onalaska’s Case McGraw, who placed second and third in the events, respectively.

Parvin also anchored MWP’s winning 400 relay and leaped 19-01 to take the long jump. Hunter Brackett swept the true distance races and Noah Gilstrap claimed the 800 plus ran a leg on the winning 1,600 relay. Sebastian Gonzalez won the pole vault for the Timberwolves.

McGraw rebounded with a victory in the 400-meter dash while Lane Gordon picked up wins and lifetime bests in the 300 hurdles and javelin. Ethan Thayer and Justice Werner won the shot put and discus, respectively for the Loggers.

For Mossyrock, Carson Dewallie finished second in the 400 and tied for second with teammate Emilio Murillo in the high jump. The Vikings’ 400 relay also secured a runner-up placement.

On the girls side, Onalaska used its field event prowess to pile up 149.5 points to win the team title while Mossyrock was second with 119.5 points and MWP took third with 95.

The Loggers had at least a top-four finisher in all seven field events, including a 1-2-4 finish in the long jump and a 2-3-5-6-7 placement in the triple jump. Kiley Talley set a new PR of 107-flat in the discus and also won the shot put while Sommer Hammer (high jump) and Emalie Jacoby (long jump) claimed victories.

Onalaska won the 1,600-meter relay and freshman Calista Johnston took the 100 hurdles.

Mossyrock junior Leah Contreras won four times, including PR’s in the open 100 and 200 plus leading off the winning 400 and 800 relays alongside Saydi Mendoza, Avery Teinhaara and Julissa Jackson. Miley Sanders (javelin) and Joan Wedam (3,200) also won for the Vikings.

MWP had several runner-up finishes from Haylee Morgan (high jump), Karah Fairhart (javelin), Miah Morgan (100 hurdles), Gemma Jakubowski (3,200) and Madyson Bryant (200).
