The Pe Ell boys basketball team’s season came to an end on Friday in Raymond, where the Trojans fell to Ocosta 44-32 in a 1B District 4 Tournament Elimination Game.

Pe Ell led 8-5 after one but was outscored 31-11 over the next two frames to enter the fourth down 17.

“It was a hard fought game,” Pe Ell coach Ross Hojem said. “We battled and battled, but we just had a hard time scoring against their half-court defense.”

Blake Nelson, Mo Moralies, and Eli Mason scored seven points each, while Wyatt Harris scored five, Blaine Howard added four, and Pierce Edgar added two.

The Trojans end their season at 12-10, marking their first winning season since 2011.

“I am so proud of our guys for never quitting and believing in themselves and each other all year,” Hojem said. “We have started to change our culture and will continue to improve everyday.”

Mason, Howard, Kohl Perkins, and Danny Hoffman will graduate this spring, but everyone else is expected back next winter.
