Pe Ell sweeps Winlock to snap losing streak

The Pe Ell volleyball team snapped its five-game losing streak on Thursday, getting back into the win column with a 25-10, 25-8, 27-25 sweep of Winlock.

Karli Phelps tallied 11 receptions, eight kills, four digs, three aces, and an assist, and Maisy King logged seven receptions, six aces, five kills, four blocks, four digs, and an assist.

Kassidy Hayes added three aces, two kills, and an assist, and Tristyn Zock finished with three kills and two receptions without missing a serve.

Ruby Magruder added six receptions, two aces, and an assist, Randi Belanger dished out 14 assists without missing a serve, and Fatima Mendez recorded three digs and two aces.

“We were finally able to get some of the pieces put in place to have some successful connections,” Pe Ell coach Jill Engel said. “The girls were much more consistent and self disciplined. We’re hoping to take the energy and confidence into next week’s games.”

Pe Ell (3-5) will host Northwest Christian (Lacey) on Monday, while Winlock (1-5) will host Mary M. Knight on Tuesday.
