There were no Friday night frights for Rochester in Hoquiam on Friday, as the Warriors rolled past Hoquiam 52-0 to improve to 7-2.
The Warriors jumped out to a 24-0 lead after one and pushed their lead to 44 at the break. A third quarter touchdown was enough to get them to 50, and a fourth-quarter safety from Buell Benner added an extra two for good measure.
“A great job by our guys,” Rochester coach AJ Easley said. “It was great to get out healthy and get the young guys two and a half quarters of varsity time.
Xander Peterman needed just 114 yards to hit 1,000 yards on the season, and he did just that by running for 116 and two touchdowns.
“The guys really wanted that,” Easley said.
All three of Rochester’s main backs — Ethan Rodriguez, Maddox Rodgers, and Peterman — have now hit that 1,000-yard mark in nine games.
On Friday, Rodgers added 62 yards and a score, and Rodriguez added 79 yards and a touchdown of his own.
Marshall Turnquist tallied 62 yards and scored his first varsity touchdown, and Chris Tartios logged 60 yards and a touchdown of his own.
The Warriors will now wait to learn their Round of 24 opponent, which is expected to be announced over the weekend.
