It took a fourth-quarter comeback, but the Adna Pirates were able to escape Randle with a 52-49 over Morton-White Pass.
The Pirates trailed by 11 at halftime and by nine entering the final frame, but Ava Humphrey hit three three-pointers in the fourth to ignite the Adna comeback.
Humphrey finished with four threes and ended the night with 14 points, while Rhylee Beebe finished with a team-high 19 points. McKenna Torrey added 12 points, Emma Kissner scored three, and both Kamryn Freeman and Alyssa Carroll both scored two.
Ryelin Wiedenmann led the Timberwolves with 15 points, seven steals, and seven rebounds, while Malia Armstrong added 10 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Chevy Fuller scored nine points, Layna Sams added seven along with four steals and four rebounds.
Caydence Franz added five points and eight rebounds, and Kendall Ingalsbe scored three points.
Morton-White Pass (11-9, 1-6 C2BL) will enter the district tournament as the No. 7 seed from the C2BL, which will set up a matchup against Chief Leschi in the first round on Saturday. Those two teams met in the first round of last year’s district tournament, and the Timberwolves won 56-28 to advance to the quarterfinals.
As the No. 2 seed from the C2BL, Adna (17-3, 6-1 C2BL) will have a first-round bye. The Pirates will play the winner of MWP and Chief Leschi in a quarterfinal in Rochester next Tuesday, Feb. 10.
