The Adna volleyball team made the most of its road trip east Thursday, sweeping Mossyrock 25-9, 25-16, 25-9 in a non-league matchup between two traditional C2BL friends.

The Pirates (2-0) did it behind a balanced offensive attack. Kendall Humphrey led the way with 15 kills, while Karsyn Freeman and Charissa Schierman both had seven and Danika Hallom posted five.

Hallom also logged eight digs, while Schierman had eight assists, three aces, and three blocks. Gaby Guard dished out 19 assists.

On the Mossyrock side of things, Chesney Schultz had six kills and five blocks, and Taylor Schwartz posted 12 assists and four kills.

The scores don’t reflect how well we played,” Mossyrock coach Alex Nelson said. “We played a lot of long rallies but lost a lot of them.”

Adna is set to play at Toutle Lake next Tuesday in a non-league league matchup, while Mossyrock will host Naselle in a rivalry showdown.
