Pirates obliterate Fishermen on the road

It only took two minutes for Adna to take the lead on Ilwaco on Wednesday, and the Pirates never looked back in a 10-0 blowout win.

“It was a good feeling getting league play started with a win,” Adna coach Patrick Richardson said. “Tonight we played a very solid match, putting a lot of the things we have been working on the last month.”

The Pirates led 7-0 at halftime, hit double-digits by the 60th minute, and outshot the Fishermen a whopping 40-0.

Tobin finished with two goals and four assists, while Hagseth finished off a hat-trick in the second half with another goal. Bailey Naillon added a pair of goals and an assist, and Haley Roundtree, Lillian Montat, and Alyson Terry also scored.

“I told the girls ‘now you can see how it should look.’” Richardson said. “I told them the more they work on it, the more we will be able to execute against the stronger teams in the league. We are definitely not where we want to be yet, but we are trending in the right direction.”

Adna (2-4, 1-0 C2BL) will head to Yakima for non-league games against Granger and Mabton on Thursday and Friday before returning to league play next Monday at Toledo.
