Portland police arrested three suspects allegedly connected to a rash of arson fires in Mt. Tabor Park over the past few weeks early Sunday morning.

All three were booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on suspicion of five counts of arson in the first degree and four counts of arson in the second degree. Both are felonies.

Portland Fire & Rescue did not initially identify the people arrested. But booking information from the jail showed Wayne Chen, 18, Malik Hares, 18, and Samuel Perkins, 18, in detention on nine charges of arson each. Portland Police officers arrested them around 2:35 a.m. Sunday. The Fire Bureau confirmed they were arrested in connection with the Mt. Tabor fires around 11 a.m. Sunday.
