Pope’s Place will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony, dedication, blessing and open house to celebrate the completion of its newly renovated Jim’s House Pediatric Respite Home.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16.

The new facility is named in honor of Jim Phillips, one of the Pope’s Place founders. The facility will accommodate up to eight medically fragile residents at a time for respite stays. Respite programs provide short-term breaks for families of medically fragile children and young adults. “Caring for medically fragile individuals can be physically and mentally draining, so respite care is crucial to provide opportunities for caregivers to recharge,” Pope’s Place stated in a news release.

The facility is located at 230 Washington Way, Centralia.

Light refreshments will be served.
