Portland police on Friday arrested 34-year-old Dayla Causey on suspicion of murder in the 2022 death of Portland Uber driver Shaani Mohamed.
Causey is the fourth person charged in the case in recent months.
Mohamed, a 39-year-old father of eight, was driving for Uber when he was shot to death near Northeast 82nd Avenue and Milton Street on March 27, 2022.
More than three years later, Portland police announced a flurry of arrests connected to his death.
Jurors have indicted four people on second degree murder charges since October, including Causey, Justin Ortega-Mejia, Kaesha Green and Shaperryia Lambert.
Police and court documents say little about how the four suspects are connected with one another. Charging documents allege that all four were attempting to commit robbery when “a participant in the crime” killed Mohamed, who was not involved.
Ortega-Mejia, Green and Lambert have pleaded not guilty.
Causey is being held in the Multnomah County jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
