The postseason is finally here and underway, and that means a whole lot of teams in the Chronicle Area going to a whole lot of places on different days. As State bids are punched and  the list of still-active squads gets pared down, here’s a one-stop shop for everything coming up for local teams in the district and state playoffs.

As State bids are punched and  the list of still-active squads gets pared down, here’s a one-stop shop for everything coming up for local teams in the district and state playoffs.

Football

2A

Still alive: Tumwater, W.F. West

The 2A GSHL tiebreaking puzzle was solved earlier this week, and it settled with Rochester heading to Woodland, Hudson’s Bay coming to Chehalis to face W.F. West, and Ridgefield traveling to Tumwater.

Rochester’s season came to an end against the Beavers, as the Warriors struggled in a 33-8 loss. W.F. West and Tumwater will take the field Saturday, as the Bearcats will kick off at 3 p.m. and the T-Birds will begin play at 5.

State tickets punched: Onalaska, Toledo

Still alive: Napavine, Pe-Ell Willapa Valley, Adna

Onalaska and Toledo are both through to the state tournament, as both teams won their crossovers on Friday. Rodrgio Rodriguez helped the Loggers top Forks in a muddy 20-7 win, while the Riverhawks overcame an early deficit to top RSB 36-14.

On Saturday, Adna will go to Napavine, hoping for better fortune than it had in its season-opener, and PWV will play at Kalama.

State tickets punched: Mossyrock

Still alive: Winlock, Oakville

Just about every team in the Southwest 1B League made the crossover, and that includes the three local squads — all of whom finished in the top half of the standings.

On Friday, Mossyrock handled its business against Northwest Christian (Lacey), dominating from start-to-finish in a 62-0 win. On Saturday, Winlock is set to host Tulalip Heritage, and Oakville will go to Concrete.

2A

Still alive: Black Hills, Tumwater

Both Tumwater and Black Hills won their opening rounds games of the 2A District 4 Tournament, meaning they'll each play in the semifinals on Saturday.

Tumwater will take on Ridgefield and Black Hills will face off against Columbia River. If either team wins, they'll seal a state spot and advance to the district title game. With a loss, they'll drop to separate winner-to-state games, also on Saturday.

Centralia lost the 2A district pigtail match for the second straight year, ending their season with a four-set loss to Mark Morris in Longview on Tuesday.

2B

State ticket punched: Adna

Still alive: Rainier, Napavine

The all-Central 2B League semifinals in the 2B district tournament went chalk, with Adna sweeping Rainier and Toutle Lake beating Napavine in four sets. That sets the Pirates up with the Ducks for a district championship battle that’s a rematch of last year’s fifth-place semifinal at the state tournament. It’s Adna’s first trip to the district title game since 2014, and Toutle Lake’s first time in it in even longer. That match will happen at Adna, at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Before that, though, Napavine and Rainier will join with Kalama and Forks — who made it out of the losers’ bracket Wednesday — to make a four-team group vying for three more state spots. Rainier will play Kalama at 10 a.m., with Napavine playing Forks immediately after; the winners of those two matches will earn State bids, while the losers will battle for the final berth.

1B

State tickets punched: Mossyrock

The Vikings clinched a state berth win a sweep of Naselle in the 1B District 4 semifinals on Friday, and they’ll play for their fifth straight district title on Saturday against Columbia Adventis at 6 p.m.

2A

Still alive: Tumwater

On Thursday, Tumwater and W.F. West had home-field advantage in loser-out games.

The Thunderbirds took full advantage, taking care of Aberdeen in a 4-1 win, but the Bearcats lost to Woodland 2-1, a loss that ends their season. Tumwater moves on to play Columbia River, which was upset by R.A. Long in the district semifinal, in a winner-to-state game on Saturday at 6 p.m.

2B

State ticket punched: Onalaska

Still alive: Napavine, Adna

Onalaska clinched its spot at the state tournament on Thursday, as the Loggers topped Napavine 1-0 in the district semifinal.

They'll move on to face Kalama in the final. The Chinooks defeated Adna 5-0 on Thursday, and they'll be playing for their third-straight district title.

The district's last state spot will go to either Napavine or Adna. The Tigers and Pirates will face off on Saturday at 10 a.m.
