The Pe Ell/Willapa Valley softball team picked up a pair of victories in Forks on Tuesday, winning 14-1 and 10-8 in two ends of a road doubleheader.
The Titans were able to build a 5-0 lead in the first two innings of Game 1, and they broke out for nine runs in the third to push the advantage to 14.
Sophia Milanowski hit a home run and drove in four runs on the day, Jillian Hodel added three hits and two RBIs, Lauren Matlock collected two hits and drove in a pair, and CJ Sipp also drove in two runs in the win.
Eliza Barnum pitched all five innings, allowing just one hit and one run while walking two and striking out six.
Game 2 was more back-and-forth.
Forks took the lead out of the gate with three runs in the top of the first, but PWV scored four runs over the next three innings to take a 4-3 lead. After a scoreless fourth, Forks plated a pair to retake the lead at 5-4, but the Titans were able to rally for another big inning, scoring six in the bottom of the fifth to break the game open.
The Spartans responded with three in the sixth, but Barnum pitched a scoreless seventh to seal the win.
Barnum got the final four outs in the circle, while Hodel allowed nine hits and eight runs (only three earned) while striking out nine across the first five and two-thirds.
Hodel also hit a home run and drove in two runs in the victory, while Matlock added three more hits and three RBIs of her own. Tylar Keeton and Kristi Jerles also drove in a run in the win.
PWV (7-2, 4-0 P2BL) will head to Adna on Saturday.
