The Mountaineers scored 20 unanswered runs and shut out the Loggers over the last four innings en route to a 20-4 five-inning blowout win on Wednesday night in C2BL action in Rainier.

Eight runs in the bottom of the first inning erased a 4-0 deficit and Rainier was far from done. It put up six runs in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth to turn the game into a rout. It registered 12 hits, 17 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, seven walks and struck out just two times.

Hunter Howell went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and four RBIs while Kaymen Larman drove in five runs on just one hit. Everyone in the Mountaineers crossed home at least once and seven of them notched at least one hit. Peyton Sheaffer struck our four in three-plus innings of relief.

Onalaska used an RBI double from Tuff Lyons to light up the scoreboard first then added in the frame on a steal of home, passed ball and an RBI single from Broden Vickers.

“We just gotta keep working and get better,” Loggers head coach Weylin Womack said.
