Centralia’s Tiger Stadium became a hub of international soccer training over the weekend as local youth soccer players trained under the guidance of professional coaches from Spain, according to a news release from organizers.
The youth soccer camp featured professional coaches from the historic Spanish club Real Racing Club de Santander, Juan and Jaime.
The three-day camp hosted local soccer players ranging from U8 through U19, including players at the recreational, select and premier levels. Participants received instruction focusing on technical skills, tactical awareness and the signature style of Spanish football, according to the news release from event organizers.
“Over the past three days, our players were pushed outside their comfort zones with intense, top-tier training designed to accelerate their development both on and off the field. Hosting coaches of Juan and Jaime’s caliber at Tiger Stadium elevates the game for our youth and inspires them to reach new heights,” said Coach Cristian Molina of Nido Águila Grays Harbor/Lewis County – Club América Washington, the Washington Premier League soccer club that organized and hosted the training.
“The success of this camp highlights the strong passion for soccer within the Lewis County community. We couldn’t have pulled this off without our amazing community,” the event organizers shared in the release. “Huge thanks to Centralia Mayor Chris Brewer for stopping by to show support, GMA Sports, Katia Hudson Photography, Centralia School District and Booster Club — and all our sponsors — Pacific Mobile Structures, Eli’s Pavers, Centralia Physical Therapy, Olympia Orthopedic Associates and Innovations in Eye Care for helping create these opportunities for our youth! Thank you all for your support and trust!”
Real Racing Club de Santander, currently competing in Spain’s LaLiga 1, is renowned for its academy and player development programs. The visiting coaches expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome from the local community and praised the enthusiasm of the young athletes.
