Whether your ride is waxed, polished and ready to shine or rusty with faded paint and barely running, you can bring it on down to the ninth annual Rust or Shine Car Show and Music Festival on Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Chehalis.

Registration for the car show is now open, and those who register ahead of time can do so at $17 per vehicle along with getting their Rust or Shine shirt for $20. Those who choose to register the day of the show will pay $20 per vehicle and $25 for a shirt.

“We’ve already got quite a number of people registered. We’re up to around 40, which for almost a month out is crazy,” Veterans Memorial Museum Executive Director Chip Duncan told The Chronicle last weekend at the Gambler 500 event in Randle.

Individually numbered dashboard plaques and goodie bags will be available for the first 200 people to register.

Prizes for the show include custom welded trophies made by Duncan. Along with the car show, three bands will be performing. Last year’s show featured The Olson Bros Band.

Additionally, raffles and a Chicago-style pinup contest will be held, and local craft and food vendors will also be on hand.

Last year’s show had 335 official entries with dozens more stragglers parking their cars to show just outside the museum, making it one of the largest car shows in Lewis County.

To register for the Rust or Shine Car Show and Music Festival, visit the Veterans Memorial Museum located at 100 SW Veterans Way in Chehalis.

Sponsors for this year’s show include Garbe’s Bar and Grill in Chehalis and Lucky No. 3 Tattoo Co. in Centralia.
