The Packwood Timberland Library will temporarily close in August for restroom renovations and asbestos abatement.

The library, located at 109 W. Main St., Packwood, will close at 5 p.m. on Aug. 5 and reopen Aug. 22 at 10 a.m., according to a news release from Timberland Regional Library.

Expanded access hours and regularly scheduled programs will also be canceled during that time frame. The return drop box will be open and checked periodically during the closure for returns.

The Mountain View Timberland Library, at 210 Silverbrook Road, Randle, will be open throughout August on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mountain View is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Fridays.

The recently expanded Books by Mail program will continue to be available for patrons who cannot make it to a library branch due to transportation or health barriers.

Application for the program is available at TRL.org/books-by-mail.

“Thank you for your patience as we work to enhance the experience of our patrons and improve library facilities,” the news release stated.
