The Toledo boys basketball team opened its season with a solid victory, as the Riverhawks pulled away from Morton-White Pass for a 61-41 win.
“To play well and win the first game out, I’m super happy,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said.
Toledo led by just one after the first quarter, but allowed just six points in the second and shut out the T-Wolves in the third quarter to blow the game open.
Cooper Fallon led the way with a stellar all-around putting, and he scored 29 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, had six assists, and blocked three shots.
“He’s a gentle giant,” Fallon said. “He’s just big and strong.”
As a team, the Riverhawks recorded 21 assists, a stat that made coach Fallon proud.
“We know based on the summer that we don’t care who scores,” Fallon said. “That was the coolest stat as a coach.”
Tyce Vigre scored 16 points and added four assists, while Eli Weeks scored 12 points in the win.
Judah Kelly led the T-Wolves with 19 points, while Logan Mays added 12.
MWP (1-1, 1-1 C2BL) will host Eatonville in White Pass on Saturday, while Toledo (1-0, 1-0 C2BL) will head to Winlock on Tuesday.
