After three postponements, the Toledo softball team was finally able to take the field in Centralia on Thursday, and the Riverhawks topped the Tigers 14-4 in five innings to open the season with a win.
Toledo pulled away early, scoring a run in the top of the first before adding nine in the second to build a 10-run lead.
Camryn Hurley led the offensive output, blasting two home runs and driving in seven runs as part of a three-hit day. Xtyn Norberg added three hits, including a double, and three RBIs in three at-bats, and Taysia Miller also went 3 for 3 with a double and drove in two runs of her own.
Brenna Carver pitched all five innings, allowing two earned runs, and she also added a hit and drove in a run at the plate.
Adrianne Lynch tallied two hits and scored a run to lead the Centralia offense, while both Madalynn Rothdeutsch and Antonia Saucedo went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run.
The Riverhawks (1-0) will head to Rochester for another non-league matchup on Monday, while the Tigers (2-1) will head to Shelton on Wednesday for their league opener.
