Toledo outscored Chief Leschi 33-29 in the second half but it wasn’t quite enough to pull off a comeback as the Riverhawks were edged in a 66-60 elimination loss in the 2B District 4 tournament on Friday at Black Hills High School.

The Riverhawks fell behind 16-11 in the first quarter and 37-27 at the half before engineering a spirited comeback attempt. But the Warriors of the 2B Pacific League fended off Toledo down the stretch to end the Riverhawks’ season.

Toledo was led by junior Jake Cournyer’s game-high 20 points to go with five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Cournyer drained four 3-pointers as Toledo knocked down nine shots from deep on the night to only five from the Warriors.

Carson Olmstead added 12 points and Connor Olmstead tallied nine points and six boards and Carson Gould finished with nine points. Rogan Stanley hauled in a team-high seven rebounds.

Toledo ends its season 14-10 overall, going 1-2 in the district tournament. Seniors playing in their final high school game were Wyatt Nef and Mason Miller.
