The Rochester High School SkillsUSA team made a strong showing at the SkillsUSA state competitions March 27-29 at Clover Park Technical College.
Students from the school took first and second place in the Robotics:Urban Search and Rescue competition.
Haaken Kenney and Hunter Robinette took gold and are now headed to SkillsUSA Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia, in June. Karen Rivera-Garcia and Lizeth Venegas took silver.
Sebastian Vesely, Kane DeVries and Tyson Dailey took first place in the Welding Fabrication competition.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, according to the organization’s website. SkillsUSA programs include local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills.
