‘Run amok, tip ‘em up’: Runners combine exercise and alcohol in fifth annual Pub Run in Centralia

Posted

A herd of runners and walkers traveling down Tower Avenue is a normal sight for a Thursday evening in Centralia, but just once a year, those amateur athletes stop at a handful of bars along a three-mile route through downtown Centralia and take a shot at each.

Now in its fifth year, Run Amok Irish Running Club’s Pub Run is a chance for members to add an extra dash of fun to their weekly run.

Each of this year’s six participating businesses — O’Blarney’s Irish Pub, Insert Coin, Tiki Tap House, Tower Tavern, The Limit Bar & Grill and The Juice Box — prepared a specialty drink for participants to enjoy before they took off to the next bar.

Run Amok Irish Running Club holds weekly evening runs every Thursday starting at 6 p.m. The club is free to join and is open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels.  For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/runamokirishcentralia.
