Trevin Salme was unstoppable on Friday in Mossyrock, where he scored 42 points to lead Adna to a 67-57 victory.

The junior guard started off hot, hitting two threes in the first quarter and a third in the second, and he had 20 points by halftime.

Adna led by just six at the break, but Salme scored 14 points in the third to help the Pirates extend their lead to 18. He added eight more in the final frame to finish at 42, and he also finished with eight rebounds and five steals.

Talan Guerrero added eight points, nine rebounds, and three assists, Grayson Humphrey scored seven points, and Landen Cline tallied eight rebounds and five assists.

Colby Cournyer led Mossyrock with 19 points, while Shaun Fry scored 10 and Ethan Johnson logged nine.

Despite the loss, Mossyrock coach Kelly Ross was very pleased with the effort he saw from his group.

“What an exciting game,” Ross said. “We shot the ball really well in stretches and we were able to feed off of some momentum swings to cut it close at the end of the game … We are playing some of our best basketball and we are looking forward to keeping it rolling going into the post season.”

Mossyrock (8-11, 6-10 C2BL) will enter the district tournament as either the No. 6 or 7 seed, depending on how Toutle Lake finishes its regular season.

Adna (17-2, 14-0 C2BL) will host Morton-White Pass on Monday before hosting Toledo on Wednesday in its regular-season finale.
