Sunday is the last day to view the 38-year-old exhibits at Castle Rock's Mount St. Helens Visitor Center before Washington State Parks updates the museum.
People are invited to bid farewell to the exhibits and film first introduced in 1986, four years after the mountain last blew.
The center is set to reopen in May with new exhibits, though the Wetland Haven Trail that runs near the center will be open throughout the closure.
Sunday's free event will run in two sessions, according to a Washington State Parks announcement.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a craft table, ranger programs and special displays of Mount St. Helens memorabilia from 1980.
From noon to 4 p.m., U.S. Forest Service, Mount St. Helens Institute, Army Corps of Engineers, and more, will have informational booths displayed.
At 4 p.m., a presentation on the planned updates will be shared, and cake will be served, the parks report.
