Scalise ahead in race to serve another term on Toledo City Council

Jaime Scalise is leading the race to serve another term on the Toledo City Council, following the release of initial election results Tuesday.

After the polls closed at 8 p.m. the Lewis County Auditor’s Office reported that Scalise had 66 votes, or 62.26% of the ballots, to Gary Reboin’s 39 votes, or 36.79% of the ballots. The Lewis County Auditor’s Office counted 106 votes for the race in the initial release, with one resident writing in a candidate.



The preliminary count included the results of 13,338 ballots. The Lewis County Auditor’s Office estimated there were still 701 ballots left to count on election night, with an estimated total voter turnout of 24.15%.

The next ballot count will be released at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Election certification will take place on Nov. 28.
