The Winlock volleyball team fell in straight sets on Tuesday, losing to Toutle Lake in a C2BL matchup 25-22, 25-20, 25-17.
The Cardinals (7-7, 1-5 C2BL) were able to hang with the Ducks (9-5, 5-1 C2BL) for a majority of the night by paying extra attention to their hitting, which was the game plan coming in, according to coach Terri Dalsted.
Winlock’s defense also showed up to play, and was “scrappy” throughout.
“We just really showed up to play,” Dalsted said.
Kyleigh Creach had an excellent night, dishing out 18 assists while also notching three aces, two kills and a block.
Charlee Connelly was a perfect 12 for 12 from the service line while also recording 25 digs. Kindly Kelly was also perfect serving, going 9 for 9, while adding 11 kills and a block. Madison Rohman also added eight kills.
Winlock returns to the floor on Thursday, when they head to Cathlamet to take on Wahkiakum.
