Toledo and Toutle Lake went to five sets on Thursday in Toutle, but inconsistency from the service line came back to doom the Riverhawks in a 25-27, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20, 8-15 loss.
The Riverhawks missed 18 serves in the loss, which Toledo coach Kelli Larson said was the main thing that cost them in the loss.
“They worked well communicating as a team,” Larson said. “But we made some errors at key moments preventing us from finishing the match on top.”
Ellie Fallon led the Riverhawks offensively with 28 kills and seven aces, and Abby Umbiraco added seven kills of her own. Sidney Kruger tallied 34 assists, while Taysia Miller led the team with three blocks.
Toledo (4-9, 1-4 C2BL) will look to snap its four-game losing streak at home against Winlock on Tuesday.
