The W.F. West girls wrestling team had seven wrestlers advance to the second day at the Braided 64 Tournament, the largest high school female wrestling tournament in the country.
Over 100 teams and 850 wrestlers descended onto Kelso on Saturday, competing across 14 weight classes.
Kaylee Lehman was the Bearcats’ highest placer. She won each of her first five matches to reach the semifinals at 130 pounds, and then won two straight matches after falling in the semi to finish third and end the tournament 7-1.
Aurora Martin won her first three matches at 125, as did Yasmine Azcunaga at 170. Eden Hornby won her first two matches at 115 and went on to finish the tournament 4-2.
