The Thurston County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide, the department announced on social media.
About 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 11000 block of Morris Road Southeast, which is in the Yelm area.
First responders attempted to revive the victim but were unsuccessful, according to the social media post.
The incident is now being investigated as a homicide.
