LEWIS COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT
Preliminary appearances
• Kevin R. Kemp, 45, Centralia, made a preliminary appearance April 29 for one count of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance following a reported Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team investigation. A judge set bail at $5,000 cash or bond. Kemp pleaded not guilty during an arraignment on April 30.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Aaron J. Henning, 36, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for second-degree criminal trespass and possession/use of drug paraphernalia in the 200 block of East Cherry Street at about 6:23 a.m. April 30 after he was allegedly contacted by an officer on a property from which he was previously trespassed. Police alleged Henning possessed used drug paraphernalia at the time of arrest.
• Austin A. Reynolds, 30, Olympia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for third-degree theft after he allegedly stole merchandise from a store in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 3:26 p.m. April 30. Police allegedly determined Reynolds also had a felony Department of Corrections warrant for escape from community custody.
Assault
• A road-rage incident resulted in an assault in the 600 block of South Pearl Street at about 9:12 a.m. April 29. The case was reportedly referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office.
Neighborhood dispute
• Two Centralia men — ages 24 and 27 — were issued criminal citations for allegedly fistfighting in a residential-area parking lot in the 1300 block of Belmont Avenue at about 7:25 p.m. April 29.
Order violation
• Police investigated a possible order violation in the 200 block of Centralia College Boulevard at about 2:54 p.m. April 30 after the respondent allegedly sent mail to the petitioner.
Taking a motor vehicle without permission
• Regina Attaway, 43, Renton, was referred to the Lewis County Superior Court for charges after she allegedly took a borrowed vehicle out of Centralia and refused to return it. The incident was listed in the 600 block of South Ash Street at about 8:39 p.m. April 29.
Theft
• Felicia L. Baker-Serrano, 44, Oregon, was arrested and issued a criminal citation for third-degree theft after allegedly stealing store merchandise in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:34 p.m. April 29.
• Theft from a local business was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at about 9:04 p.m. April 29. No suspect information was available at the time.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• A juvenile was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for alleged first-degree assault in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street at about 11:23 a.m. April 29.
• Derk J. Singleton was booked into the Lewis County Jail for misdemeanor warrants and alleged possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest at the corner of Southwest Third Street and Southwest Cascade Avenue at about 1:09 p.m. April 29.
DUI
• Ruben Francisco Rodas was issued a criminal citation and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence near the corner of Southwest William Avenue and Southwest John Street at about 12:14 a.m. April 30.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of May 1, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 148 inmates, including 134 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 112 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
• As of May 1, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 16 inmates. Of those, six were from Centralia, one was from Elma and seven were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Quileute Nation and the Shoalwater Bay Tribe.
