CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A cellphone was reported stolen from the 1100 block of South Scheuber Road just after 9:15 a.m. on May 6.

• A backpack containing a pistol was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 3600 block of Galvin Road just before 10:10 p.m. on May 6.

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue just before 4:50 p.m. on May 6.

• A Centralia man was cited for third-degree theft in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. on May 6.

• A patio-style umbrella was reported stolen from the 100 block of East Pine Street at approximately 11:25 p.m. on May 6.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road just after 9:10 a.m. on May 7.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 2800 block of Russell Road just after 1:35 p.m. on May 7.

• A black Suzuki 500 motorcycle was reported stolen from the front yard of a residence in the 1200 block of North Tower Avenue just after 4:05 p.m. on May 8. The suspect reportedly cut the chains that were attached between the motorcycle’s wheels.

 

Crashes

• Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of East Summa Street and Kresky Avenue at 12:35 p.m. on May 6.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of West Summa and South Pearl streets just before 3:50 p.m. on May 6.

• A Centralia man was cited for third-degree driving with a suspended license after he was involved in an injury collision at the intersection of Harrison and Reynolds avenues just before 5:15 p.m. on May 6.

 

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run that caused extensive damage in the 200 block of Floral Street at 4:45 p.m. on May 6 is under investigation.

 

Trespassing

• A Centralia woman was cited for second-degree criminal trespass in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road at 9:20 p.m. on May 6.

• At 1:15 p.m. on May 7, a caller reported an unknown woman trespassed in an empty residence in the 1000 block of North Pearl Street and did damage.

 

Assault

• Police are investigating an assault that occurred between three acquaintances in the 1600 block of North Scheuber Road at 12:35 a.m. on May 7. One person suffered minor injuries to the face.

• At 11:55 a.m. on May 7, a victim reported they were assaulted by an unknown man in the 400 block of West Main Street.

• A case of assault reported in the 3500 block of Steelhammer Drive just before 6:45 p.m. on May 7 has been referred to the prosecutor’s office for review.

 

Unlawful Inhalant

• Police are investigating a possible unlawful inhalant crime that was reported in the 500 block of East Magnolia Street just after 7:10 p.m. on May 8.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disputes

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street at 10:20 a.m. on May 6.

• A physical dispute was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:35 p.m. on May 6. Two men had reportedly been chasing a woman and another man stepped in to try and help the woman. No arrests were made.

 

Drug Violation

• A drug violation reported in the 1200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just before 11:50 a.m. on May 6 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• A second-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 12:50 p.m. on May 6 is under investigation.



• A second-degree theft reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 4:20 p.m. on May 6 is under investigation.

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 10:25 a.m. on May 7 is under investigation.

• A cashier’s check was reported stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 1:20 p.m. on May 7.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from the 600 block of Northwest Ohio Avenue just after 8:05 a.m. on May 8.

• Gas was reported stolen from the 10 block of Southwest Eighth Street at approximately 5:55 p.m. on May 8.

 

Crashes

• A vehicle driven by an elderly woman reportedly crashed into a building in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 2 p.m. on May 6. The vehicle was traveling at approximately 10-15 mph when the crash occurred. The woman had a bloody nose but was otherwise unharmed, according to police.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1800 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:25 p.m. on May 6.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just before 4:55 p.m. on May 8.

 

Assault

• A fourth-degree assault was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 4:35 p.m. on May 6.

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• Just after 7:40 p.m. on May 6, a caller in the 400 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue reported two men on bicycles were throwing things at cars.

• A case involving a suspicious person that was reported in the 200 block of North Market Boulevard just after 10:25 p.m. on May 6 is under investigation.

• At 10:25 a.m. on May 7, a caller reported a man in the 600 block of West Main Street was “carrying a stool, throwing a pickax and beating the ground.” No arrests were made. 

• At 2:30 p.m. on May 7, a caller asked officers to check on a man who was sitting on a bench in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard “drinking a gallon of whiskey.”

 

Trespassing

• Just before 8:40 p.m. on May 7, a caller reported a subject who had broken into their garage in the 200 block of North Market Boulevard twice the previous night was back in the garage. The subject was reportedly sitting in the garage, talking on the phone, “screaming and throwing stuff” while the caller was on the phone with the police. No arrests were made.

• A subject was cited for trespassing in the 600 block of Northwest Hawthorne Place at approximately 8:05 a.m. on May 8 after they allegedly broke into a travel trailer.

• A subject was cited for trespassing in the 1600 block of North National Avenue at 12:05 p.m. on May 8.

 

Animal Negligence or Abuse

• A case of possible animal abuse and theft involving cats was reported in the 200 block of Southwest James Street just before 10:45 p.m. on May 7.

 

Dispute

• A dispute between a man and a woman was reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard just after 10:50 a.m. on May 8. The man reportedly broke a window in their van while they were driving.

 

Harassment

• A case of harassment was reported in the 1200 block of Southwest Elzina Street just before 6:45 a.m. on May 9. The reporting party was advised to get a protection order as soon as possible.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 150 inmates, including 130 in the general population and 20 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 109 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 18 were reported male and two were reported female.
