CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• Charles G. Cheney, 40, Centralia, was arrested after an alleged physical altercation with a roommate in the 500 block of Warren Street at about 6:26 p.m. July 23. During the altercation, Cheney allegedly struck the roommate several times with brass knuckles.
Assault
• Samuel L. Christin, 26, Ethel, was arrested after an alleged physical dispute with a significant other in the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road at about 6:18 p.m. July 22.
Criminal trespass
• Sarah M. Brown, 34, Tenino, was arrested after allegedly trespassing onto property in the 100 block of West High Street at about 8:52 p.m. July 22. Police said Brown had previously been trespassed from the property. Upon contact, police found that Brown also had an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run collision was reported in the 400 block of West Cherry Street at about 4:23 p.m. July 22. No suspect information was known at the time.
Possession of controlled substances
• Jake M. Johnson, 38, Yelm, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged possession of a controlled substance and use of drug paraphernalia in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at about 9:15 a.m. July 22.
Malicious mischief
• Damage to two golf carts and a truck was reported in the 700 block of Pioneer Way at about 9:27 a.m. July 22.
• Vandalism was reported at Fort Borst Park in the 900 block of Johnson Road at about 2:30 p.m. July 23. Electrical wiring was reportedly stolen.

JAIL STATISTICS
• As of July 24, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 140 inmates, including 126 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 103 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
• As of July 24, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 23 inmates. Of those, two were from Centralia, one was from Elma and 13 were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were three from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, the Skokomish Tribe and the Chehalis Tribe.
