Sirens: Assault under investigation; woman arrested for malicious mischief; woman found with fentanyl; collision damages private property

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Ashley C. Betterman, 39, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 11:44 a.m. Aug. 23 for second-degree malicious mischief, domestic violence, at a residence in the 400 block of South Iron Street.

• Ricky L. Zuniga, 36, of Renton, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail at about 1:20 p.m. Aug. 23 for first-degree criminal trespass after allegedly refusing to leave a business in the 300 block of North Gold Street from which he was being trespassed.

• A hit-and-run collision was reported on Friday, Aug. 22, near the intersection of First Street and Harrison Avenue. Officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle, at which time it fled the scene. The Lewis County Sheriff's Office later located the vehicle again and began pursuit. Joleen R. Tenorio, 31, of Battle Ground, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for hit-and-run, along with other crimes, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• Melissa L. Roush, 50, of Chehalis, was arrested at about 6 p.m. Aug. 24 following a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue where she allegedly provided officers with a false name.

• Kristen M. Karboski, 44, of Oregon, was arrested after being contacted in a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of South Yew Street and found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. She was also found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia upon her arrest at about 9:04 p.m. Aug. 24.

Citations

• Teresa M. Bagan, 64, of Rochester, was cited at about 6:24 p.m. Aug. 23 for reckless driving after being involved in a collision that damaged private property in the 1200 block of North Tower Avenue.

Malicious mischief

• Damage to a camper door in the 1300 block of Rose Street was reported at about 3:11 p.m. Aug. 23. The case remains under investigation.

Vehicle collisions

• A two-vehicle collision occurred at about 5:06 p.m. Aug. 23 in the 2600 block of North Pearl Street.

• A hit-and-run collision was reported at about 8:32 p.m. Aug. 22 at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Reynolds Avenue. After further investigation, it was concluded that the suspect was driving an unreported stolen vehicle.

• A hit-and-run collision was reported at around 3:14 p.m. Aug. 22 in the 2100 block of North Pearl Street.

Trespass

• A transient from Chehalis was trespassed from private property in the 1000 block of South Yew Street after acting disorderly at around 9:28 p.m. Aug. 23.



• A transient male from Kent was trespassed from a local business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue after attempting to steal deli food at around 7:07 a.m. Aug. 23.

Assault

• Officers were dispatched at around 12:01 a.m. Aug. 24 to an assault by an unknown individual in the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road. The case remains under investigation.

Theft

• Clothes were reported stolen at about 2:06 p.m. Aug. 22 from a store in the 1400 block of Lum Road.

• Officers are investigating a report that came in at roughly 6:59 p.m. Aug. 24 of theft of merchandise from a local business in the 1000 block of South Yew Street.

Burglary

• A burglary was reported at about 3:28 p.m. Aug. 24 in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue. This case is still under investigation.

Assault

• Officers took a report of an assault at about 4:38 p.m. Aug. 24 that occurred the day prior in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 170 inmates, including 157 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 133 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
