Preliminary appearances
• Michael W. Armendariz, 40, Tacoma, made a preliminary appearance Feb. 9 for one count each of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, reckless driving, hit-and-run attended vehicle and third-degree driving while license suspended or revoked after he allegedly evaded a Washington State Patrol trooper on Interstate 5 before abandoning his vehicle at Love’s Travel Stop in Napavine on June 17, 2025. Prior to his preliminary appearance, Armendariz had posted a bail of $50,000 following his arrest. He remains out of custody and is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on Feb. 19.
• David W. Day, 42, Onalaska, made a preliminary appearance Feb. 9 for one count each of third-degree assault, obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest after he allegedly made multiple 911 calls and then exhibited “escalating behavior” following a visit from a Lewis County sheriff’s deputy, according to court documents. The court set bail at $10,000 cash or bond. Day is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on Feb. 12.
• Angela A. Harris, 42, Centralia, made a preliminary appearance Feb. 9 for two counts of felony harassment after she allegedly threatened to kill a neighbor and the neighbor's daughter. The court set bail at $5,000 cash or bond. Harris is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on Feb. 12. She will look to retain private defense counsel.
CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• William Radau, 22, Onalaska, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for third-degree malicious mischief in the 1200 block of Delaware Avenue at about 10:02 a.m. Feb. 9 after allegedly spray-painting graffiti on an overpass.
• Daniel Flores, 19, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault domestic violence in the 200 block of North Iron Street at about 2:41 a.m. Feb. 10.
• Isaac W. Hall, 40, Longview, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for third-degree theft after allegedly shoplifting in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 12:38 p.m. Feb. 10.
• Brian M. Raappana, 34, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly violating his conditions of release and resisting arrest at 118 W. Maple St. at about 2:16 p.m. Feb. 10.
• Mason Waddington, 21, Winlock, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree burglary at the WinCo store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 9:49 p.m. Feb. 10.
Accidents
• Officers investigated a school bus accident near the corner of North Tower Avenue and West Center Street at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 9. Police indicated no children were present on the bus and no injuries were reported.
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported near the corner of North Pearl Street and West Fifth Street at about 12:38 p.m. Feb. 10.
• A two-vehicle collision with potential minor injuries was reported in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue at about 2:37 p.m. Feb. 10.
• A two-vehicle collision with potential minor injuries was reported in the 100 block of West First Street at about 4:14 p.m. Feb. 10.
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at about 4:56 p.m. Feb. 10.
Assault
• Blake Hubbard, 38, Rochester, was referred to the Lewis County Superior Court for alleged second-degree assault domestic violence in the 2400 block of Eureka Avenue at about 4:57 p.m. Feb. 10.
Dispute
• Police attempted to respond to a report of a fight among a group of people in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at about 11:07 p.m. Feb. 9, but the group dispersed before their arrival.
Fraud
• A fraudulent check-writing scam was reported in the 900 block of J Street at about 11:35 a.m. Feb. 9. The case is under investigation.
• Fraudulent credit card transactions were reported in the 500 block of West Main Street at about 2:24 p.m. Feb. 10.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run in a parking lot was reported in the 900 block of Johnson Road at about 2:59 p.m. Feb. 9. The case is under investigation.
Loitering
• Nicholas Huston, 33, and Brandi Wangen, 26, both of Centralia, were issued criminal citations for allegedly loitering for drug related activity, in violation of the Centralia Municipal Code, in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street at about 8:16 p.m. Feb. 9.
Theft
• Two females reportedly stole over $500 worth of merchandise from a store in the 100 block of West High Street at about 2:31 p.m. Feb. 10. Police were contacted after the subjects left the store. The case is under investigation.
Vehicle prowl
• Money was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of East Oakview Avenue at about 12:27 p.m. Feb. 10.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Arrests
• A suspect was arrested in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place at about 9:11 p.m. Feb. 7 and booked into jail for one count of first-degree criminal trespass.
• Elizabeth Pippen was arrested in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at about 8:17 p.m. Feb. 9 and booked into jail for alleged counts of criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Barbara Haase was arrested near the corner of South Market Boulevard and Southeast Third Street at about 2:35 p.m. Feb. 10 for alleged third-degree malicious mischief and possession of methamphetamine.
• James G. White was arrested and booked into jail for one count of alleged criminal trespass in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at about 11:24 p.m. Feb. 10.
Accidents
• A two-vehicle collision with no injuries was reported at the roundabout in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at about 4:18 p.m. Feb. 10.
DUI
• Peggy Hearn was issued a criminal citation for allegedly driving under the influence in the 1800 block of Southwest Snively Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 7.
Possession of a controlled substance
• A suspect was cited for possession of a controlled substance in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at about 9:34 p.m. Feb. 9.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Feb. 11, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 177 inmates, including 163 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 134 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
• As of Feb. 11, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 10 inmates. Of those, three were from Centralia and three were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there was one each from the Skokomish Tribe, the Quileute Nation, the Suquamish Tribe and the Tulalip Tribe.
