Sirens: Burglars Steal Money From Safe; Arrested for Refusing to Leave; DUI Arrest; Assault

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Burglary 

• Just before 7:25 a.m. on Feb. 10, a burglary of a business in the 600 block of South Pearl Street that occurred early that morning was reported. Two subjects reportedly smashed the glass door and fled with money from a safe, according to the Centralia Police Department. The incident was caught on security cameras and the case is under investigation.

• A purse and money were reported stolen from a residence in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road just after 4:50 p.m. on Feb. 10. The occupant reported the burglary occurred while they were away. 

• A burglary to a residence in the 900 block of North Tower Avenue was reported at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Feb. 11. Jewelry and miscellaneous kitchen items were reported stolen. 

 

Theft 

• A Winlock man was arrested in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 9:15 p.m. on Feb. 10 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly stealing several bottles of alcohol from a grocery store. 

• Alcohol and makeup were reported stolen from a store in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 11. The case is under investigation. 

• Just after 1:50 a.m. on Feb. 12, there was a report that a flag pole was broken off of a house in the 1200 block of Ward Street. The flag was reportedly taken. 

• A Centralia woman was cited for third-degree theft in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 12. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A Federal Way resident was arrested in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street just before 9:25 a.m. on Feb. 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly entering a residence without permission and refusing to leave when told by the homeowner and law enforcement. 

 

DUI 

• Tomas A. Diego-Lucas, 20, of Centralia, was arrested in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at 10:55 p.m. on Feb. 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road just after 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 12.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run that occurred last week in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was reported at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Feb. 10. 

 

Assault 

• A custodial assault that occurred at Green Hill School on Dec. 25 was reported at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 10. 

• A subject was arrested in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 10:15 p.m. on Feb. 10 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault. 

• A subject reportedly “threw punches” at a person in the 400 block of Southwest 19th Street just after 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 11. No arrests were made. 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Lafayette Street at 12:25 a.m. on Feb. 12. No arrests were made. 

• A 10-year-old boy reportedly hit an 11-year-old boy in the head in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 12. Possible charges were referred to the prosecutor’s office. 



• A 17-year-old girl allegedly threw a shovel at a 15-year-old boy in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 8:55 p.m. on Feb. 12. Possible charges were referred to the prosecutor’s office. 

 

Burglary 

• A subject was arrested in the 300 block of Southwest 15th Street just after 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 10 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged second-degree burglary. 

• Two subjects reportedly attempted to break into a residential garage in the 200 block of Southwest 16th Street at 10:40 p.m. on Feb. 11. No arrests were made. 

 

Theft 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 7:35 p.m. on Feb. 11 is under investigation. 

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Feb. 11. 

• At 3:25 p.m. on Feb. 12, a generator was reported stolen from a trailer in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place sometime overnight. 

• A second-degree theft reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 5:50 p.m. on Feb. 12 is under investigation. 

 

Vicious Dogs 

• A possible vicious dog was reportedly “running around” in the 500 block of Southwest William Avenue at 1:25 p.m. on Feb. 10. 

• A black pitbull-mix was reportedly “acting aggressive towards people” in the 500 block of Southwest William Avenue just after 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 12. 

 

Harassment 

• A case of possible ongoing harassment was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just before 2:50 p.m. on Feb. 10. 

• A case of possible harassment was reported in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court just after 5:40 p.m. on Feb. 12. 

 

Sexual Misconduct 

• A case of “sexual misconduct” reported in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 is under investigation. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A case of disorderly conduct reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 10:50 p.m. on Feb. 10 is under investigation. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 177 inmates, including 164 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 125 were reported male and 39 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
