Sirens: Burglary; Vehicle Prowls; Thefts

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Burglary 

• A burglary was reported at a business in the 1700 block of South Gold Street at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Sept. 14. The business’ cash drawer was taken during the incident. It was later recovered inside a stolen vehicle. 

Vehicle Prowl 

• Several items were reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 1100 block of Long Road just after 9:35 a.m. on Sept. 15. 

• Several items were reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue just after 11:10 a.m. on Sept. 15. 

• Several items were reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 1100 block of Long Road just after 11:10 a.m. on Sept. 15. 

Theft 

• A backpack was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Alder Street just after 11:20 a.m. on Sept. 14. 

• A power tool was reported stolen from a business in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue at 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 14. 

• A Honda CRV was reported stolen from the 300 block of Hemlock Street just after 3:40 a.m. on Sept. 15. The case is under investigation. 

Criminal Trespass 

• A Centralia man was cited for first-degree criminal trespass just after 5 a.m. on Sept. 15 after he was found sleeping inside a church in the 300 block of North Gold Street. 

• Three people were trespassed from a motel in the 1300 block of Lakeshore Drive just after 7:15 a.m. on Sept. 16 after they were involved in a “verbal confrontation.” 

Drug Violation 

• A Centralia man was cited for possession of methamphetamine just before 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 15 after a caller reported he was “consuming narcotics in (a) parking lot” in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue. 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Malicious Mischief 

• A hole suspected to be from either a bullet or a pellet gun was reported in a window in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard at 10:50 a.m. on Sept. 14. 

Burglary 



• An attempted burglary was reported in the 1600 block of South Market Boulevard at 10:50 a.m. on Sept. 14. 

Theft 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Sept. 15 is under investigation. 

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:20 p.m. is under investigation. 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• Just before 11:35 a.m. on Sept. 14, a caller in the 400 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way reported seeing “half of a body and a head” in nearby sticker bushes. Upon closer inspection, the “body and head” were revealed to be two separate chunks of broken concrete. 

• A woman reportedly tried to use a fake $50 bill at a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 9:20 a.m. on Sept. 15. The woman told staff “she found it on the ground and then tried using it.” No arrests were made. 

Trespassing 

• Two men who were reportedly “knocking on people’s car windows asking for money” at 5:05 p.m. on Sept. 14 in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard were trespassed from the property. 

• The drivers of a large tan camper reportedly refused to leave a campground in the 1900 block of South Gold Street at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Sept. 15.

Assault 

• A subject reportedly threw a beer can at an employee during a dispute in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:20 a.m. on Sept. 15. No arrests were made. 

• A second-degree assault reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Sept. 15 is under investigation. 

Vehicle Accident 

• A vehicle reportedly backed over a pedestrian’s ankle in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:50 a.m. on Sept. 15. The driver reported “he was backing up to get concrete and didn’t see (the pedestrian).” The pedestrian reported non-life threatening injuries. 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS 

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 177 inmates, including 161 in the general population and 16 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 139 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 14 were reported male and two were reported female.
