Sirens: Businesses Burglarized; Juvenile Arrested for Assault; Lewis County Jail Statistics

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• Merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue just after 11:20 p.m. on Feb. 20. The case is under investigation.

• Lumber and building materials were reported stolen from the yard of a residence in the 1400 block of Delaware Avenue just after 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 20.

• Books were reported stolen from the 100 block of South Silver Street just before 3:50 p.m. on Feb. 21. The case is under investigation.

• A cellphone was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue at 4:55 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• A gray enclosed trailer with the Washington license plate 2869ZS was reported stolen from the 200 block of Tilley Avenue at 2:25 a.m. on Feb. 22.

 

Burglary

• Damage to the window of a business in the 100 block of North Pearl Street was reported at 11:55 p.m. on Feb. 20. As of Tuesday morning, officers did not know whether the perpetrator entered the business. The case is under investigation.

• A burglary to a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue was reported at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 21. The suspect(s) reportedly forced entry through the back door and stole various items inside.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Damage to vehicles in the 1500 block of Kresky Avenue was reported just before 9:10 a.m. on Feb. 21. The case is still under investigation.

 

Criminal Trespass

• A subject was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Feb. 21.

 

Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision that occurred on private property in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue was reported at 12:50 p.m. on Feb. 21.

• A vehicle versus power pole accident was reported at the intersection of Reynolds Avenue and North Pearl Street just after 4:55 p.m. on Feb. 21. Traffic was rerouted for several hours due to hanging power lines. The driver was issued several infractions.

 

Assault

• A juvenile male was reportedly assaulted by another juvenile male in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just after 4:55 p.m. on Feb. 21. No arrests were made.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Hit-and-Run

• A hit-and-run that occurred in the 300 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue on Feb. 15 was reported just before 11:55 a.m. on Feb. 17.

 

Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 1800 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue just before 4:55 p.m. on Feb. 17.

• A non-injury vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just before 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 21.

 

Vehicle Prowl

• A purse and a car stereo were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just before 11:10 p.m. on Feb. 17.

• Prescription medication was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard just after 5:05 p.m. on Feb. 20.

• A vehicle prowl reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 10:20 p.m. on Feb. 20 is under investigation. A suspect has been arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail.

• A vehicle prowl that occurred in the 2500 block of North National Avenue on Feb. 16 was reported at 2:55 p.m. on Feb. 21.

 

Fraud

• A case of online theft/non-specific fraud was reported in the 100 block of North Market Boulevard at 2 p.m. on Feb. 18.



• A “social media scam” was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 18.

 

Burglary

• A burglary to a business in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue that occurred on Feb. 14 was reported just before 5:45 p.m. on Feb. 17. Two batteries were reportedly stolen.

• A second-degree burglary reported in the 2000 block of Jackson Highway just after 4:05 a.m. on Feb. 19 is under investigation.

 

Other Theft

• A third-degree theft was reported in the 700 block of West Main Street just before 1:25 p.m. on Feb. 17.

• Just after 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 17, a first-degree theft that occurred in the 2100 block of North National Avenue sometime overnight was reported.

• A vehicle was reported stolen from the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just after 4:20 p.m. on Feb. 20.

 

Malicious Mischief

• Damage to windows on a vehicle in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street was reported just after 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 17. The reporting party stated they were at a basketball game and when they returned to their vehicle, they found two of the vehicle’s windows “were shot with what looks like would be a BB gun,” according to the Chehalis Police Department. The vehicle parked next to the reporting party’s vehicle also had BB holes in it.

• Just after 8:10 a.m. on Feb. 21, vandalism to a garage door in the 300 block of Southwest Ninth Street that occurred sometime overnight was reported.

• Damage to a vehicle window in the 2500 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue was reported just after 10:05 a.m. on Feb. 21.

 

Disorderly Conduct

• Two subjects suspected of shoplifting from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 10:35 p.m. on Feb. 17 were trespassed from the business after they reportedly refused to leave.

• A case of disorderly conduct reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 7:10 a.m. on Feb. 22 is under investigation.

 

Disputes

• A possible physical dispute was reported in the 100 block of North Market Boulevard just before 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 18.

• A “family disturbance/dispute” reported in the 300 block of West Main Street at 8:20 p.m. on Feb. 18 is under investigation.

• A physical dispute was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 4:05 p.m. on Feb. 19.

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Riverside Drive just after 4:40 p.m. on Feb. 20.

 

Suspicious Circumstances

• A case involving “suspicious circumstances” that were reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on Feb. 18 is under investigation.

• A case involving a “suspicious person” that was reported in the 1500 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 2:50 a.m. on Feb. 20 is under investigation.

 

Animal Negligence

• Officers responded to a report that a dog was chained to a vehicle in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 10 a.m. on Feb. 18. The dog “appeared healthy” and “showed no signs of distress,” according to the Chehalis Police Department.

 

Assault

• A third-degree assault of a child case that was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:15 a.m. on Feb. 20 is under investigation. Charges have been referred to a local prosecutor’s office.

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 176 inmates, including 163 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 121 were reported male and 42 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
