CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Burglary
• Just after 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 8, officers received a report that the rear glass door of a strip mall in the 1600 block of South Gold Street had been shattered. The glass door to a business inside the strip mall was shattered and several items were reported stolen from the business.
Drug violation
• A 31-year-old Olympia man was arrested for using narcotics in a parking lot in the 400 block of East Summa Street at 11:25 a.m. on Jan. 8. He reportedly had powdered fentanyl in his possession.
Criminal impersonation
• A 33-year-old Oakville man was arrested for first-degree criminal impersonation after he reportedly gave officers a false name and date of birth when he was contacted at the intersection of South Tower Avenue and East Locust Street at 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 8. He was also arrested on multiple Centralia Municipal Court warrants.
Scam
• At approximately 11:25 a.m. on Jan. 9, a woman reported she was scammed out of $2,300 when she attempted to rent a house in the 400 block of South Gold Street only to find out the house was never for rent.
Assault
• A 45-year-old Centralia man was arrested for two counts of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1500 block of Belmont Avenue just before 11:50 a.m. on Jan. 9.
Theft
• A phone was reported stolen from a business in the 500 block of North Pearl Street just before 5:05 p.m. on Jan. 9.
DUI
• A 42-year-old Centralia man was arrested for DUI at the intersection of South Pearl and West Walnut streets just after 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 10.
• A 36-year-old Centralia man was arrested for DUI after he crashed his vehicle at the intersection of South Yew and West Main streets at 2 a.m. on Jan. 10.
CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Disorderly conduct
• Just after 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 8, a business in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue reported someone defecated on the business’s sales floor at approximately 10:45 a.m. the day prior. The business advised that there had been a possible medical issue.
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Quincy Place and Northwest West Street just before 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 8.
• Possible minor injuries were reported following a vehicle crash at the intersection of South Market Boulevard and Southwest Sixth Street just before 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 8.
Green Hill School
• Green Hill School, located in the 300 block of 11th Street, reported two cases involving the introduction of contraband just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 8.
Recovered vehicle
• A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 8.
Dispute
• A verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 8.
Theft
• A theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 7:05 a.m. on Jan. 9 is under investigation.
Burglary
• A 57-year-old man was arrested for first-degree burglary in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 11:25 a.m. on Jan. 9 after he reportedly trespassed on a property while wielding a crowbar.
• A possible burglary to a garage was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Quincy Place just after 2:25 a.m. on Jan. 10.
Drug violation
• A possible drug deal was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 9.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 59 illness-related calls, 14 injury-related calls, three fire-related calls, seven vehicle accidents, one vicious dog report, one Lifeline medical alert and two other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 161 inmates, including 148 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 113 were reported male and 35 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 15 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, seven booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Tulalip Tribe, two booked by the Lummi Nation and one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court.
