Sirens: Chehalis man sentenced for burglary, assault; woman arrested for DUI, firearm possession; rash of vehicle prowls reported

Sentencings

• Robert M.E. Donyes, 41, Chehalis, was sentenced Aug. 13 to 116 months in prison and 18 months of community custody after pleading guilty to one count each of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, interfering with domestic violence reporting, resisting arrest and felony violation of a court order. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of gross misdemeanor violation of a court order. Additional counts were dismissed. Donyes was sentenced in a separate case to 42 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of felony violation of a court order and 11 counts of attempted violation of a court order. CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrests

• Troy N. Houghtaling Sr., 65, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for three alleged counts of violating a no-contact order in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at about 2:01 p.m. Aug. 15.

• Takevia C. Wilson, 28, Centralia, was arrested and booked for an alleged violation of a domestic violence no-contact order in the 800 block of Alder Street at about 6:02 p.m. Aug. 15.

• Helen M. Meyer, 47, Centralia, was arrested in the 600 block of North Tower Avenue at about 1:57 a.m. Aug. 16 for alleged DUI and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Police allege Meyer was armed with a firearm at the time of her arrest. Prosecutors declined to file felony charges, according to court documents.

• Mark W. Powell, 54, Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for an alleged felony no-contact order violation in the 200 block of East Plum Street at about 3:55 p.m. Aug. 16. Police also booked Powell on an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant.

Accidents

• Officers completed a two-vehicle collision report with no injuries in the 1000 block of Mellen Street at about 6:48 p.m. Aug. 16.

Assault

• An assault at a medical facility was reported in the 3500 block of Steelhammer Drive at about 11:38 a.m. Aug 16. The case was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office for review.

Drug violation

• Officers investigated a drug violation in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at about 11:13 a.m. Aug. 15.

DUI

• Michael W. Severance, 28, Centralia, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue at about 10:52 p.m. Aug. 14.

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run collision was reported near the corner of West Reynolds Avenue and North Pearl Street at about 2:41 p.m. Aug. 14. No injuries were reported.

• A hit-and-run collision was reported in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 3:40 p.m. Aug. 14. According to police, the suspect’s vehicle hit a shopping cart corral outside a local business and left the scene.

Malicious mischief



• A parked vehicle was reported as the victim of malicious mischief in the 900 block of Old Airport Way at about 12:11 a.m. Aug. 15. The case is under investigation.

Theft

• Kolter C. Kidrick, 22, Rochester, was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for alleged third-degree theft in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 3:08 p.m. Aug. 14.

• Daniel J. Young, 35, Centralia, was arrested after allegedly stealing items from a store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 6:38 p.m. Aug. 14.

• A bag containing personal property was reported stolen from a local restaurant in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at about 8:39 p.m. Aug. 14.

• Andrew D. Boyd, 42, Yelm, was arrested after allegedly stealing items from a store in the 1000 block of South Yew Street at about 9:47 p.m. Aug. 14.

Vehicle prowl 

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 1600 block of Maple Valley Drive at about 9 a.m. Aug. 14.

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 100 block of Halliday Road at about 11:46 a.m. Aug. 14.

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 1600 block of Maple Valley Drive at about 12:17 p.m. Aug. 14.

• A juvenile was later arrested and booked for alleged vehicle prowl first reported in the 100 block of Halliday Road at about 6:55 a.m. Aug. 14. Police said the juvenile was linked to other vehicle prowls in the area. Officers are attempting to identify other suspects.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Citations

• Kayleigh McDaniel, 39, was issued a criminal citation and booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly violating protection orders in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue at about 5:56 a.m. Aug. 16.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Aug. 17, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 146 inmates, including 133 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 101 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Aug. 17, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 23 inmates. Of those, 12 were from Centralia and five were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were two from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Quileute Nation, the Shoalwater Bay Tribe, the Skokomish Tribe and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
