CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Burglary

• A possible burglary of a sports facility shed in the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue was reported just before 10 a.m. on April 11. Officers confirmed the reported damage to the shed was old and that nothing was missing.

• A burglary reported in the 1100 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 5:15 p.m. on April 13 is under investigation.

 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just before 10:20 a.m. on April 11.

• A possible verbal dispute was reported in the 800 block of North National Avenue just before 9 p.m. on April 11. Officers confirmed it “was kids messing around.”

 

Animal negligence/abuse

• A case of animal negligence or abuse reported at the intersection of Northeast Division Street and Northeast Washington Avenue just before 10:35 a.m. on April 11 is under investigation.

• A subject reported seeing someone abusing a black pitbull puppy in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at 10:15 a.m. on April 13.

 

Malicious mischief

• A 14-year-old girl was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief after her parent reported she was “being crazy, throwing things and breaking stuff in the home” in the 1600 block of Southwest Gails Avenue at 2:35 p.m. on April 11.

• A window to a vehicle in the 100 block of Southwest Lewis Street was reported broken at approximately 11:15 a.m. on April 12.

 

Assault

• A vehicular assault reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at 7:25 p.m. on April 11 is under investigation.

 

DUI

•  At approximately 9 p.m. on April 11, a customer at a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue reported hearing a possibly intoxicated female say “hopefully I don’t die when I try to drive to Seaside.” Officers were unable to locate her.

 

Sexual misconduct

• Possible child sexual abuse material was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 3:20 a.m. on April 12.

 

Green Hill School

• A possible overdose was reported at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street at approximately 12:05 p.m. on April 12.

 

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:40 p.m. on April 12.

• A vehicle reportedly struck a telephone pole in the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue at 5:10 p.m. on April 12. No injuries were reported.

 

Theft

• A subject was cited for return fraud in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 6:10 p.m. on April 12.

• Two teenagers reportedly stole shears from a business in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:40 p.m. on April 13.

 

Criminal trespass

• A subject was reportedly “yelling and cussing” while sitting on the train tracks in the 300 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. on April 12. The subject was moved along.

• A disorderly customer was trespassed from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 1:40 p.m. on April 13.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A man carrying an ax that he was partially concealing with a jacket was reportedly looking into vehicles and houses in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 9:40 a.m. on April 13.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT



Theft

• EBT funds were reported stolen from the 1000 block of Scammon Creek Road just after 9:45 a.m. on April 10.

• A 34-year-old Centralia man was arrested for stealing alcohol from a store in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 2:20 p.m. on April 11. A 44-year-old Tacoma woman was also referred on charges for stealing alcohol from the store.

• A 36-year-old Tenino man was arrested for shoplifting in the 1000 block of South Yew Street just after 10:35 p.m. on April 13.

 

Drug violations

• A 45-year-old Poulsbo woman was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10:35 a.m. on April 10.

• A 41-year-old Lacey resident and a 40-year-old Olympia resident were arrested on outstanding felony warrants in the 100 block of west High Street at 6:35 p.m. on April 13. They are both also being referred on drug possession and theft charges.

 

Burglary

• Tools were reported stolen from a garage in the 1400 block of Windsor Avenue just after 10:25 p.m. on April 10.

 

Assault

• At 10:55 p.m. on April 10, someone reported that a subject in an SUV shot them with an Airsoft gun in the 200 block of South Tower Avenue.

• A 54-year-old Rochester woman was arrested for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, in the 1200 block of Rhobina Street just before 10:05 a.m. on April 11.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A 47-year-old Winlock man was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia at the intersection of Centralia College Boulevard and South Oak Street at 3:40 p.m. on April 11.

 

Vehicle accident

• Minor injuries were reported following a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10:25 a.m. on April 12.

 

Eluding

• A 43-year-old Centralia man was arrested for attempting to elude a pursuing police officer in the 100 block of West Maple Street just after 12:50 p.m. on April 12.

 

DUI

• A 72-year-old Chehalis man was arrested for DUI in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue at approximately 9:05 p.m. on April 12.

 

Identity theft

• Just before 11:30 a.m. on April 13, a citizen in the 900 block of South Tower Avenue reported that someone unsuccessfully tried to file their taxes using the citizen’s social security number.

 

Sexual misconduct

• Just before 2:30 p.m. on April 13, officers received a report of a male viewing child sexual assault material while connected to public WiFi near the intersection of North Silver and West Main streets. The case is under investigation.

 

Hit-and-run

• A 21-year-old Chehalis man was cited for hit-and-run at the intersection of South Cedar Street and Centralia College Boulevard at 2:55 p.m. on April 13.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Friday morning and Monday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 78 illness-related calls, 22 injury-related calls, 10 fire-related calls, 15 non-emergency service calls, four vehicle accidents, three overdoses, one suicide-related call, one pregnancy-related call, one hazardous conditions report, one medical helicopter request, one Lifeline medical alert and four other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 147 inmates, including 134 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 112 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 21 inmates, including nine booked by the Centralia Police Department, six booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the City of Elma, one booked by Chehalis Tribal Court, two booked by the La Push Quileute Nation, one booked by the Lummi Nation and one booked by the Quileute Tribe.
