Sirens: Criminal impersonation; DUI arrests; Juvenile arrested at middle school after individual 'kicked unconscious'

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal impersonation 

• A 58-year-old Centralia man was referred to the prosecutor’s office on impersonation charges for allegedly providing an officer with a false name to avoid arrest on a warrant in the 1300 block of Kresky Avenue just before 11:10 a.m. on Sept. 24. 

• Just after 1:55 p.m. on Sept. 25, there was a report that a traffic citation was given “to someone who used their sibling’s identity” in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue. The case is under investigation. 

 

Camping 

• A homeless man from Cinebar was cited for camping on city property in the 700 block of South Tower Avenue just after 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 24. 

 

Recovered vehicle 

• A stolen vehicle was recovered in the 100 block of West High Street at 1:35 p.m. on Sept. 24. The vehicle was in the registered owner’s possession. 

 

Malicious mischief 

• A group of juveniles reportedly damaged a rat trap in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just after 3 p.m. on Sept. 24. 

• Damage to a vehicle, including several dents and a broken windshield, was reported in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 25. 

• A 33-year-old Rochester man was arrested in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Sept. 26 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly damaging someone else’s vehicle. 

 

DUI 

• A 21-year-old Rochester man was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for a DUI after he was involved in a collision at the intersection of Kresky Avenue and East Summa Street just after 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 24. 

• A 21-year-old Tumwater woman was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for a DUI after she was involved in a collision at the intersection of West First Street and Harrison Avenue just before 9:25 p.m. on Sept. 26. 

 

Theft 

• Items were reported stolen from a store in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Sept. 24. 

• Merchandise was reported stolen from an outlet store in the 100 block of West High Street just after 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 25. The incident reportedly occurred on Sept. 16. 

• A cellphone was reported stolen from the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 25. 

• At 6:35 a.m. on Sept. 27, a 2017 white Hyundai Elantra with the Washington license plate CHB1478 was reported stolen from the 700 block of H Street sometime after 9 p.m. the day prior. 

• Just after 6:45 a.m. on Sept. 27, an interrupted vehicle prowl was reported in the 2400 block of Borst Avenue. The victim reportedly saw the male suspect inside her vehicle and confronted him, which caused him to flee. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. 

 

Drug violation 

• A 37-year-old Tacoma man was cited for knowing possession of a controlled substance in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:20 p.m. on Sept. 24. 



 

Sexual misconduct 

• A case of sexual misconduct reported in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue at 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 24 is under investigation. 

 

Runaway juvenile

• A juvenile was reported as a runaway from Centralia Middle School in the 900 block of Johnson Road at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 26. 

 

Assault 

• A juvenile male was arrested at Centralia Middle School in the 900 block of Johnson Road at approximately 10:55 a.m. on Sept. 26 and was booked into the Lewis County Juvenile Detention Center for second-degree assault for his alleged involvement in a physical altercation with another individual, who was “kicked unconscious.” Centralia police reported, “The victim was conscious when police arrived, but was transported to the hospital for medical treatment of possible injuries.” 

 

Criminal trespass 

• Two homeless people were trespassed from private property in the 900 block of West Main Street just before 6 p.m. on Sept. 26. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just before 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 25. 

 

Theft 

• “Black shiny boots” were reported stolen out of a residence in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 3:25 p.m. on Sept. 25. The reporting party said she “thinks the suspect took the boots while (she) was out feeding cats sometime.” The suspect, who is the reporting party’s neighbor, called the police about 15 minutes later to “file a complaint about her neighbor always yelling and screaming ‘she’s a thief’ when she sees her in the hallway.” When told about the boot theft allegation, the neighbor advised the reporting party has repeatedly accused her of theft. Officers gave the neighbor information on how to obtain a restraining order. 

• A possible theft that occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue in July was reported at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Sept. 25. 

• A shoplift was reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at 6:05 p.m. on Sept. 25. 

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• Two unidentified subjects were reportedly “outside somewhere … beating on the windows and doors” of a residence in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 26. Officers conducted an area check and did not locate the subjects. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 160 inmates, including 147 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 114 were reported male and 33 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
