CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Criminal trespass
• A Castle Rock resident was trespassed from private property in the 1200 block of Lum Road just after 8:05 a.m. on May 22.
• Two homeless people were trespassed from private property at the intersection of Johnson Road and Industrial Drive at 9:10 a.m. on May 22.
• A homeless Centralia resident was trespassed from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 12:10 p.m. on May 22 for dumping garbage in the business’ garbage can.
• Homeless people were reportedly moving into an abandoned motorhome in the 700 block of Euclid Way at approximately 1:10 p.m. on May 23.
• Four homeless people were reportedly setting off firecrackers in the parking lot of a hotel in the 21000 block of Eckerson Road just after 9:05 p.m. on May 23. Officers trespassed the subjects from the hotel at hotel staff’s request. No firecrackers were located.
Drug violation
• A 35-year-old Centralia man was cited for possession of suspected fentanyl at the intersection of G and Second streets just after 9:45 a.m. on May 22.
Suspicious death
• A death reported at the intersection of East Fourth and B streets just after 11:40 a.m. on May 22 is under investigation. “The cause and nature of the death is being investigated and no additional details will be disclosed,” the Centralia Police Department said in a news release.
Traffic hazard
• An unknown male was attempting to direct traffic at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and northbound Interstate 5 at 5:25 p.m. on May 22. An officer was unable to locate the subject.
Vehicle accidents
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 22.
• A passenger car rear-ended a school bus at the intersection of South Silver and West Cherry streets at 9 a.m. on May 23. No injuries were reported.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11:20 a.m. on May 23.
• An employee at a business in the 1100 block of North Pearl Street reportedly hit a shop support beam at approximately 2:05 p.m. on May 23. No injuries were reported. A building inspector has checked the shop’s structural integrity.
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported on private property in the 400 block of South Tower Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. on May 23.
Theft
• A cellphone was reported stolen from the 300 block of South Yew Street just before 9:45 p.m. on May 22.
• While on proactive patrol in the 100 block of West High Street at 6:40 p.m. on May 23, an officer located a suspicious vehicle with no plates parked in front of a Centralia Outlet store. When the officer checked the vehicle, suspected stolen clothing was seen inside. Officers contacted the occupants after they exited a store and recovered the stolen clothing. The occupants allegedly admitted to stealing the clothing from a nearby store in Centralia prior to coming to the outlets. The owner of the vehicle allegedly admitted that they came to Centralia with the sole intent of shoplifting. During a search of the vehicle owner, suspected methamphetamine was located on his person. A 40-year-old Seattle man was cited for knowingly possessing a controlled substance and two Tacoma residents were cited for third-degree theft.
Identity theft
• At approximately 6:30 p.m. on May 23, a citizen in the 200 block of West Oakview Avenue reported a stranger applied for a credit card in their name and used their Amazon account to purchase items, which were delivered to a nearby vacant residence.
Sexual misconduct
• A report of sexual misconduct made in the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 5 p.m. on May 23 is under investigation. “No further information is available at this time,” the Centralia Police Department stated in a news release.
DUI
• A 38-year-old Napavine resident was arrested adt the intersection of Mellen and Yew streets just after 10:15 p.m. on May 23 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for DUI.

Suspicious circumstances
• A caller reported someone followed him home and was threatening him in the 700 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just after 10:15 a.m. on May 22.
• Two subjects possibly attempted a vehicle prowl in the 600 block of West Main Street at approximately 3 p.m. on May 22 then walked into some bushes.
• Subjects in a vehicle were reportedly playing music in a park in the 1500 block of Rice Road just after 11:20 p.m. on May 22.
• Four teenagers wearing ski masks were reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street at approximately 1:40 a.m. on May 23.
• A subject reportedly stole items from a dumpster in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place just after 5:10 a.m. on May 23.
• A bicycle was found abandoned at the intersection of Northeast Hampe Way and Northeast Kresky Avenue just before 1 p.m. on May 23.
• A man was reportedly sitting on the ground “with a car battery and a bunch of cables and wires” in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at approximately 3 p.m. on May 23.
Vehicle accident
• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:25 p.m. on May 22.
Hit-and-run
• A hit-and-run to a power pole was reported in the 700 block of Northwest Prindle Street just after 8:40 a.m. on May 23.
Dispute
• A family dispute was reported in the 400 block of Northeast Alaskan Way just after 11:30 p.m. on May 22.
• A physical dispute was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pennsylvania Avenue just before 10:35 p.m. on May 23.
Criminal trespass
• Two males between 16 and 20 years of age possibly trespassed on a property in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. on May 23. Officers confirmed there was no trespass order in place and no crime had occurred.
Burglary
• A second-degree burglary reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue just after 11 .m. on May 23 is under investigation.
Burning
• Just after 5:45 p.m. on May 23, a citizen reported her neighbor is burning trash in his yard in the 300 block of Southwest 15th Street and the smoke was “irritating her.” She declined aid. An officer confirmed the neighbor was burning firewood in a contained fire ring and was not burning trash.
FIRE AND EMS CALLS
• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 36 illness-related calls, six injury-related calls, five fire-related calls, three non-emergency service calls, three vehicle accidents, one overdose, one suicide-related call, one rescue and three other calls.
JAIL STATISTICS
• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 129 inmates, including 117 in the general population and 12 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 91 were reported male and 26 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 10 were reported male and two were reported female.
• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 14 inmates, including eight booked by the Centralia Police Department, five booked by the state Department of Corrections and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
