Sirens: Dog Stolen; Truck Driver Accused of Indecent Activity; Teens on Stadium Roof; Camping in the Drive-Thru

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• A dog, described as a 12-week-old black and tan husky-German shepherd mix, was reported stolen from the 200 block of Southwest Second Street at 10:15 a.m. on May 12. 

• A case of first-degree theft reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 6:45 p.m. on May 12 is under investigation. 

• Just before 9:15 a.m. on May 14, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 200 block of Southwest 10th Street sometime overnight was reported. 

• A 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe Unlimited was reported stolen from the 200 block of West Main Street at approximately 1:25 p.m. on May 15. 

• A subject was arrested for shoplifting in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 6:55 p.m. on May 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail. 

 

Burglary 

• Two subjects reportedly broke into a truck in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just before 8:20 a.m. on May 13. 

• At 5:05 p.m. on May 14, a burglary to a business in the 2100 block of North National Avenue that occurred two hours prior was reported. 

 

Recovered Vehicle 

• A stolen vehicle was located and recovered in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 10:35 p.m. on May 14. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly subject was reportedly screaming in a parking lot at the intersection of Southwest Seventh Street and Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 6:05 p.m. on May 12. The subject reportedly said “he had to yell so God could hear him.” The subject left on foot without further issue. 

• A man who was reportedly “trying to take” a baby from a woman in the 1700 block of South Market Boulevard just before 9:45 a.m. on May 13 was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on possible fourth-degree assault and violation of a protection order charges. Those charges had been dismissed as of May 16. 

• Just before 9:05 p.m. on May 14, an Uber driver reported a man “came after” a woman the driver had just dropped off in the 400 block of Southeast Washington Avenue. Officers responded and were unable to locate either subject. 

• A man on the sidewalk in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue was reportedly “refusing to leave and high on drugs” at 10:30 a.m. on May 15. 

• A male semi-truck driver who had no pants on was reportedly “masturbating next to vehicles” while driving in the 700 block of North National Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. on May 15. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Four juveniles were reportedly on the roof of the stadium in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 6:35 p.m. on May 15. Officers secured the door and confirmed the juveniles had left the area. 

• Officers conducted a welfare check on a male subject “crying on the floor” of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on May 15. The subject reportedly became “agitated” and was trespassed from the business. 

• Two subjects who were reportedly “camping out in the drive-thru” of a business in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 7 a.m. on May 16 were moved along. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• A case of third-degree malicious mischief reported in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just after 7:05 p.m. on May 12 is under investigation. 

 

Vehicle Accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:20 a.m. on May 13. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 2:45 p.m. on May 14. 

• Just after 3:55 p.m. on May 15, a non-injury, two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at about 3 p.m. was reported. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 15. An unoccupied truck reportedly “rolled back” and hit another unoccupied vehicle.  

 



Disputes 

• A dispute was reported in the 700 block of Northwest St. Helens Avenue just after 4:25 a.m. on May 14. No arrests were made. 

• A possible physical dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest 11th Street just before 5:20 p.m. on May 14. No arrests were made. 

 

Assault 

• A case of fourth-degree assault reported in the 200 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue just after 6:55 p.m. on May 15 is under investigation. 

• A subject was arrested for fourth-degree assault in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and was booked into the Lewis County Jail after a physical dispute between a man and a woman was reported in the area just after 8:05 p.m. on May 16. 

 

Harassment 

• At 11:50 a.m. on May 16, a case of harassment that occurred the day prior was reported in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

• Just before 6:15 p.m. on May 16, a caller reported “drone harassment,” saying a drone was flying around a juvenile soccer practice in the 1500 block of Rice Road. A man in a vehicle was reportedly controlling the drone. 

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Hit-and-Run 

• Just before 8:45 a.m. on May 15, a hit-and-run that occurred in the 1800 block of Cooks Hill Road on May 12 was reported. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported on private property in the 1100 block of Scammon Creek Road just after 2:15 p.m. on May 15. 

• At 3 p.m. on May 15, a non-injury, two-vehicle collision that occurred in the 1300 block of Harrison Avenue four and a half hours prior was reported. 

 

Theft 

• A liquid storage tank was reported stolen from a business in the 3600 block of Galvin Road just before 10:50 a.m. on May 15. 

Criminal Trespass 

• Officers were dispatched to a business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue just after 3:05 p.m. on May 15 for a report of a man acting aggressive and disorderly. The man was trespassed from the business at the business’ request. 

• Two female suspects accused of shoplifting from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 5:55 p.m. on May 15 were trespassed from the business at the business’ request. An employee recovered the stolen property. 

• Officers were dispatched to a business in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:35 p.m. on May 15 for a report of a disorderly man who refused to leave when asked. The man left the scene without incident. 

 • Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. on May 16 for a report of a disorderly man who refused to leave the business when asked to do so. The man left when an officer asked him to do so. He was trespassed from the business at the business’ request. 

 

Assault

• A man reportedly punched another man in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road just before 11:25 p.m. on May 15. When officers arrived, they learned the victim gave a false name to the reporting party and did not want to pursue criminal charges. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 175 inmates, including 160 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 126 were reported male and 34 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
