Sirens: DUI Arrest; Urinating in Public; 'No Evidence of Bomb-Making'; Graffiti on Train Cars; Panhandling

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• Two bicycles were reported stolen from the 200 block of North Buckner Street just after 8 a.m. on June 12. 

• Medication was reported stolen from the 2400 block of Reynolds Avenue just after 9:30 a.m. on June 12. The case is under investigation. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 12:50 p.m. on June 12. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue at 2:55 p.m. on June 12. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Caveness Drive just after 3:15 p.m. on June 12. 

• A single-vehicle collision involving a semi truck was reported at the intersection of North Pearl and West First streets just after 11:50 a.m. on June 13. No injuries were reported. 

 

DUI 

• Tyler J. Lee, 36, of Centralia, was arrested in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just after 3:45 p.m. on June 12 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence.

 

Urinating In Public

• A homeless person from Centralia was “warned for urinating in public” in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. on June 13. 

 

Traffic Problems 

• Just before 8:55 a.m. on June 13, a caller reported a truck and a camp trailer were parked over the fog line at the intersection of Fair Street and Kresky Avenue, making it hard for other drivers to see around. 

• Officers responded to a report of a woman with two young children soliciting money from passing motorists at Exit 82 on Interstate 5 at approximately 1:40 p.m. on June 13. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A homeless person from Pe Ell was trespassed from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 2:05 p.m. on June 12 for “making employees feel uncomfortable.” 

 

Juvenile Problem 

• Officers responded to a report of a juvenile skipping school in the 900 block of B Street at 1:50 p.m. on June 13. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Graffiti was reported on city signs in the 2400 block of Reynolds Avenue at approximately 6:25 p.m. on June 13. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• Just after 1:35 p.m. on June 12, there was a report from a caller who said they thought “someone (was) putting together some sort of explosive device” in the 900 block of Northwest Airport Road. Officers responded, contacted the subject and found “no evidence of bomb-making.” 

 

Assault 

• A case of possible assault was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 6:55 p.m. on June 12. 

• A juvenile was cited for punching someone in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 9:30 p.m. on June 12. 

 



Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision that occurred in the 1500 block of North National Avenue “over a week ago” was reported just after 7:10 p.m. on June 12. 

• A vehicle reportedly hit a rock wall in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at 11:55 a.m. on June 13. The female driver was reportedly injured. The vehicle did not break through the wall and no one inside the building was injured. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at 7:10 a.m. on June 14. 

 

Theft 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 9:35 p.m. on June 12 is under investigation. 

• A case of second-degree theft reported in the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 12:05 p.m. on June 13 is under investigation. 

• An iPad was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2100 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue just before 1:25 p.m. on June 13. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• A case of third-degree malicious mischief was reported in the 2000 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue just after 7:05 a.m. on June 13. 

• A male subject reportedly threw a rock at the window of the Lewis County Historical Museum in the 500 block of Northwest Front Street, breaking the window, at 7:40 a.m. on June 13.  

• Damage and graffiti to train cars in the 100 block of Southwest Veterans Way was reported at approximately 11:20 a.m. on June 13. 

 

Panhandling 

• At 10:40 a.m. on June 13, there was a report of a male with an accordion and an amp at the back entrance of a store in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard. 

 

Juvenile Problem 

• Just after 11:15 a.m. on June 13, a “major youth incident” described as a “riot” that occurred in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard on May 12 was reported. 

 

Burglary 

• A possible burglary to a house in the 700 block of Southwest 19th Street was reported just before 11:50 a.m. on June 13. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A homeless male was reportedly “yelling at no one” in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 4 p.m. on June 13. 

 

Harassment 

• A subject was cited for threatening to kill someone in the 700 block of Northwest Ohio Avenue just after 12:10 a.m. on June 14. 

 

Rape 

• A case of second-degree rape reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard just before 4:40 a.m. on June 14 is under investigation. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 155 inmates, including 139 in the general population and 16 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 105 were reported male and 34 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 13 were reported male and three were reported female.
