CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• Just before 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 27, sunglasses were reported stolen from a victim’s mail in the 800 block of Swanson Drive. 

 

Vehicle Accidents

• One driver sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision reported at the intersection of Kresky Avenue and East Summa Street at 8:20 a.m. on Feb. 27. One driver reportedly ran a stop sign and hit a vehicle in the intersection. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Feb. 27. 

 

Criminal Trespass

• Officers responded to a report of trespassing in the 100 block of North Gold Street just after 6:10 p.m. on Feb. 27. 

• A disorderly subject was trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 27. 

• An Alaska resident was cited for trespassing at a business in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 2 a.m. on Feb. 28. 

 

Eluding Police 

• A Rochester man wanted on outstanding felony warrants reportedly refused to exit his vehicle when officers stopped him at the intersection of Meridian and Prospect avenues just after 3:40 a.m. on Feb. 28. He reportedly fled in the vehicle, evading capture. The Centralia Police Department stated it has probable cause to arrest the subject on the outstanding warrants and for new charges of resisting arrest, reckless endangerment and first-degree driving with a suspended license. 

 

Drug Violation 

• Officers seized marijuana and smoking devices found in a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old in the 1500 block of Lum Road just after 10:20 p.m. on Feb. 27. An investigation is ongoing. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal Trespass 

• A subject was trespassed from a property in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 11:05 a.m. on Feb. 27. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 1300 block of Northwest River Street just after 2:55 p.m. on Feb. 28. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A man was reportedly walking in the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 27. 

• At 8:55 a.m. on Feb. 28, a transit driver reported there was a passenger who was “possibly on drugs” and the driver “want(ed) him taken off the bus.” 

• A woman was reportedly “jumping in front of traffic acting silly like she’s trying to get hit” in the 2100 block of North National Avenue at 1:25 p.m. on Feb. 28. 



• A male subject was reportedly “running into the street” in the 900 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 1:35 p.m. on Feb. 28. 

• A male subject was reportedly “taking off his clothes” at a bus stop in the 1500 block of North National Avenue just after 3:10 p.m. on Feb. 28. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Teens were reportedly trying to break into bathrooms in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 27. Officers checked both bathrooms and confirmed they were locked and had sustained no damage. 

 

Disputes 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just after 9:25 p.m. on Feb. 27. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 10:20 a.m. on Feb. 28. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 9:50 p.m. on Feb. 28. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• One person reported head pain following a two-vehicle, rear-end collision in the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 11:50 a.m. on Feb. 28. 

 

Theft 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:55 p.m. on Feb. 28 is under investigation. 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:10 p.m. on Feb. 28 is under investigation. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Two teenagers reportedly tagged a house in the 900 block of South Market Boulevard at 4:50 p.m. on Feb. 28. 

 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• Just after 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 28, a caller reported a male who had repeatedly chased her down and stood in front of her house in the 600 block of Northeast Franklin Avenue over the last couple of days was standing outside her house again. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 162 inmates, including 148 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 115 were reported male and 33 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and three were reported female.
