CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Scam results in theft

• Centralia police responded to the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue for a report of a phone scam resulting in a theft at about 9:41 a.m. Sept. 21. The case is under investigation.

Crashes

• Officers responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at about 1:50 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue.

• Officers responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision at about 4:47 p.m. Sept. 22 at the intersection of South Pearl Street and West Main Street.

Meth arrest

• Danica Nikolich, 46, of Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for possession of a controlled substance and use/delivery of drug paraphernalia after being found to have consumed methamphetamine in the parking lot of a local business, WinCo, at about 2:03 p.m. Sept. 21.

Marijuana in the mail

• Officers responded to the report of marijuana being mailed to a local business in the 1300 block of Lum Road at about 2:18 p.m. Sept. 21. No suspect information is available at this time.

Driving with suspended license

• Lorrie Williams, 54, of Centralia, was issued a criminal citation for third-degree driving with a suspended license at about 4:09 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 2500 block of North Pearl Street.

• Callieann M. Lumbert, 28, of Toledo, was arrested and issued a criminal citation for third-degree driving with a suspended license at about 4:54 p.m. Sept. 21 at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and northbound Interstate 5.

Illegal camping and trespassing

• A male was trespassed from a park for camping, in violation of Centralia city code, at about 8:36 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue.

• A male was trespassed from a business for acting disorderly, being threatening with staff and using derogatory terms at about 9:45 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue.

Assist with arson case

• Centralia police assisted the Chehalis Police Department with securing evidence associated with an active arson case being investigated in the 1600 block of South Market Boulevard at about 3:07 a.m. Sept. 22.

Graffiti

• Officers located graffiti on the wall of a local business in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue at about 8:23 a.m. Sept. 22. No suspect information is available.

Theft

• Officers received the report of a theft in the 500 block of South Yew Street at about 11:17 a.m. Sept. 22. The case is still active.

Assault



• Garyth Butler, 26, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) after allegedly assaulting a household member in the 3800 block of Ives Road at about 2:14 p.m. Sept. 22.

Telephone harassment

• Police received a report of telephone harassment at about 4:35 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 500 block of East Main Street. Charges were sent to the Centralia city prosecutor for review.

Arrested for warrants

• Jesse Wheeler, 45, of Olympia, was arrested and booked into Lewis County Jail for outstanding Chehalis Municipal Court arrest warrants for violation of a domestic violence protection order, third-degree theft and disorderly conduct at about 9:09 a.m. Sept. 22 in the 100 block of West Maple Street.

• Owen Hathaway, 27, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into Lewis County Jail for an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court arrest warrant for DUI at about 4:04 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 100 block of West Maple Street.

• Eric G. Griffin II, 43, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant at about 6:51 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 100 block of West Maple Street.

• Rita F. Master, 62, of Centralia, was issued a summons to appear in court on an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant at about 8:55 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street.

False report to 911

• William B. Bernstein, 56, of Centralia, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding King County felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle, a Centralia Municipal Court warrant for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and a new charge of first-degree criminal impersonation at about 11:35 p.m. Sept. 21 in the 1100 block of Harrison avenue. The additional charges of false reporting and obstructing a law enforcement officer are being referred for charging. An officer located Bernstein at a business and, in an attempt to make the officer leave and avoid arrest (before the officer made contact), Bernstein called 911 to make the false report of a physical dispute between a male and female in a different location in the city. Bernstein reported that the female was screaming “stop” and “get off of me.”

Juveniles involved in assault

• An assault involving juveniles was reported at about 8:27 p.m. in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue. The case is being referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision.

Order violation

• A domestic violence protection order violation was reported at about 8:37 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 1000 block of North Tower Avenue. The case is being referred to the Centralia city prosecutor for a charging decision.

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Chehalis Police Department has not yet released its most recent call reports. Look for updated information in an upcoming edition of The Chronicle and at chronline.com when the reports are made available.

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Sept. 22, the Lewis County Jail had a total facility population of 152 inmates, including 139 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of the general population inmates, 119 were reported male and 20 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Sept. 22, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total jail population of 13 inmates. Of those, one was from Centralia, one was from Elma and five were from the Department of Corrections. Additionally, there were four from the Lummi Nation and one each from the Chehalis Tribal Court and the Quileute Nation.
